Course on Energy and the Environment
(A core module under the Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) Progam)

Energy affects all aspects of development. Central to sustainable development, proper management of the quality and quantity of energy services is important to ensure that the world’s energy needs are properly balanced against the backdrop of social, economic, and environmental development. This course will explore the relationship between energy and the environment. At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between the various types of energy sources
  • Understand the environmental impacts of energy usage
  • Understand the tools and mechanisms that can be used to mitigate these impacts
  • Perform simple calculations using environmental management tools
Course Date : Four Thursdays beginning from 1st March 2007 (1st Mar, 8th Mar, 15th Mar & 22nd Mar)
Exam Date : 2 weeks after course ends
Time : 9am to 5pm (4 days)
